This is the official government guidance booklet on the correct rules of the road for all vehicles and users. The first publication came out in 1931 and since then has been updated regularly and now every year a new edition is launched.
The book is available priced 2.50 and is available from all main bookstores or you can view it online on the DSA website for free. The book covers all aspects of the driving theory test that you will have to complete in order to pass your theory test.
The book covers many different areas such as road signs and markings speed limits stopping distances vulnerable road users and motorways or dual carriagewaysto name a few.The bok now also has an annexe section which gives more information on licensing requirements for cars and motorbikesdocument requirements for learner car drivers the penaltiesyouwould inccur for not following the rules maintenance of your vehicle and a very important section on first aid on the road.It is a good resource to be used alongside others in order to understand the theory of driving another good reseource is an online theory test website which has all the DSA questions and a large selection of hazard perception clips that you will need to see in order to have the best possible chance of passing first time.
